Call to Artists and Spiritual Leaders to Participate in a 24-Hour Vigil to End HIV Stigma
We invite artists and spiritual leaders from all backgrounds to join us in a powerful and transformative 24-hour vigil aimed at ending HIV stigma. This vigil is not only a time for reflection and remembrance but also a sacred space for creative expression and spiritual connection.
Mark the Hours with Your Gifts. We are seeking individuals and groups who can contribute
their artistic talents or spiritual practices to mark the passing of each hour during our vigil. Whether through art, performance, music, poetry, or prayer, your offerings will help create a tapestry of hope, healing, and unity. Each hour will be an opportunity to share a unique expression that resonates with the theme of love, resilience, and the fight against stigma.
How You Can Participate:
1 – Artistic Offerings:
• Performance: If you are a dancer, actor, or performer, consider sharing a piece that conveys the
emotions surrounding stigma and resilience.
• Music and Poetry: Share a song or poem that speaks to the journey of those affected by HIV. Your words and melodies can uplift and inspire our community.
2 – Spiritual Offerings:
• Prayers or Meditations: Lead a prayer or meditation focused on healing, acceptance, and love.
This could be a traditional prayer or a personal reflection that encourages mindfulness and
connection.
• Rituals: If you have a practice that promotes healing and remembrance, we invite you to share it. This could include lighting battery operated candles, creating a communal altar, or other rituals that foster a sense of community and solidarity.
This vigil is a chance to come together as a community, honoring those we have lost and standing in solidarity with those living with HIV today. By marking the hours with your artistic or spiritual
contributions, you will help create an atmosphere of compassion, understanding, and empowerment.
