According to the CDC\, “In 2019\, Black people accounted for 13% of the U.S. population but 40% (479\,300) of people with HIV.” \nFebruary 7th is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day! First observed in 1999\, the goal of this day is “dedicated to raising awareness about the disproportionate impact of HIV on Blacks/African Americans\, and the importance of increasing access to HIV prevention\, testing\, and treatment services to reduce this burden.
